Momentum gathers. Silent rumbles are only evident through observation - feverish stealth shown in the texture and strain of the swirling wisps. Grey huddles of density curdle their passage behind prettier hues, ready to unleash their true ferocity on the land and sea below.
Evening pinks glow across the sky in a streak of optimism for future days. Their solidity provides an unusual backdrop for indigo puffs to chug across the foreground - ink stains leaving cool watermarks on the warm hues.
Huge petals open as the sudden light of sunrise breaks through the fog to take the closed buds by surprise. They unfurl delightedly to the warming rays and extend their lengths over the bay.
Softly batting wings advance ahead of their heavier counterparts. Seeming to lead the way at first but appearing frozen in their journeying as the breeze dips and they hang suspended between headland peaks - an angelic bird that never lands.
Bags are packed, scarves tied and coats fastened, all set for the off. The journey is a swift one as they pick up speed in the tail wind and great barrels of snow advance across the sea.
