Taking a break from having danced for hours, this door is puffing hard. She loves a carnival and has pranced with the best of doors. The festive spirit has infused her soul so she glows from her dancing heart.

It's a triple first: it's the first time my mixed media paintings have been exhibited, my first virtual exhibition and it's the first one for the Balmacara Estate too. Simply aiming to bring cheerful paintings into those corners of your home that you didn’t know needed the cheer.
Using doorways as my inspiration, My mixed media paintings are created using collage as a base layer and then painting in acrylic using a palette knife. The combination of the collage and palette knife painting forms a textured effect that draws your eye into all the nooks and crannies that the paint and pattern have settled into. As you know, I've only recently ventured into painting on collage with a palette knife, I’m loving the bright colours and undulating surface and hope you love them too. Click on the image above or here to head over to the Balmacara Estate Facebook page. You can see all of my Abstract Doorways on this website too by clicking here. I'm also taking the step of being part of the #artistsupportpledge with these paintings. You'll see my social media posts reflecting this and the images below explain the pledge: NEW for summer 2020! I'm delighted to be partnered with Highland Favours from Isle of Skye.
Select my paintings and drawings as gift card options when purchasing from Highland Favours from Isle of Skye and you'll be contributing towards the Mary's Meals charity too. Highland Favours from Isle of Skye is based here in Waternish, just a few miles along the road from my studio.
