Using doorways as my inspiration, Meditative Door is part of my Abstract Doorways Collection. I've created Meditative Door using collage as a base layer and then painting in acrylic using a palette knife. The combination of the collage and palette knife painting forms a textured effect that draws your eye into all the nooks and crannies that the paint and pattern have settled into.

Recharging in those quiet times, this small, much-used hotel entrance gives love in her welcome by the bucket load to her weary travellers. She doesn’t receive much love back as she’s repeatedly slammed to and fro. She tries to keep her hinges working and tries not to mind that her once-proudly pristine sign is barely legible now. Her heart lifts during the in between times of the day and night when she can be meditative in stillness.
