Using florist doorways as my inspiration, In The Pink is part of my Shop Fronts Collection. I've created In The Pink using collage as a base layer and then painting in acrylic using a palette knife. The combination of the collage and palette knife painting forms a textured effect that draws your eye into all the nooks and crannies that the paint and pattern have settled into.
I usually write about my paintings when I first post them in my Journal here on my website. My journal post for In The Pink was:
Sitting pretty in the oncoming dusk. That's me in the turquoise over there, with blossoms tumbling over my brow and a welcoming glow through the windows. My neighbours call me the girl with the kaleidoscope eyes. I just love being framed in the pink petals of spring.
